MERCY.EXE makes dark electronic music about what survives inside the machine. Industrial electronica, darkwave, cinematic trap. THE SIGNAL IS STILL ALIVE.

Press bio — third person

Factual. Written to be quoted verbatim.

MERCY.EXE is an electronic music project working in industrial electronica, darkwave and cinematic trap, with atmospheric and lofi textures throughout. The project explores the intersection of human emotion and machine culture: signal, memory, isolation, faith and identity as they exist inside modern technological life. Its current body of work is WORLD ON MUTE. The project also operates an official merchandise storefront.

BIOGRAPHY — LONG FORM

MERCY.EXE is an electronic music project built around a single question: what part of a person survives being transmitted?

The work sits between industrial electronica, darkwave and cinematic trap. Low, deliberate tempos. Corroded synthesis. Drum programming that behaves more like architecture than percussion — weight-bearing rather than decorative. Beneath all of it runs a quieter layer that the project treats as equally important: tape hiss, room tone, lofi texture, the sound of a recording that has been copied too many times to be clean any more. Degradation is not an effect in this music. It is the evidence that something was carried.

Thematically the project stays close to the same ground. Signal and memory. Isolation experienced inside constant connection. Identity as something assembled, transmitted, and imperfectly received. Faith kept in places that were not built to hold it. MERCY.EXE treats technology not as spectacle and not as villain, but as the condition ordinary life now happens inside — and treats the human being still audible underneath as the only thing actually worth listening for.

WORLD ON MUTE is the current body of work: the moment the noise stops, and what is left of a person becomes audible.

THEMES

  • Signal and memory
  • Isolation inside constant connection
  • Identity as something transmitted and imperfectly received
  • Faith kept in places not built to hold it
  • Technology as condition, not spectacle

VISUAL DIRECTION

Matte black. High-contrast monochrome with a single restrained red accent. Heavy condensed type set tight. Broadcast and signal-failure language — interference, dropout, scan lines — used sparingly and never as decoration. The recognisable mark is the mask; where both a masked and unmasked image exist, the masked one leads. Reference points are cinema and fashion campaign photography, not gaming UI and not neon cyberpunk.
